DAT Files play a huge role in filing tax returns to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). These are necessary attachments that have to be sent to the agency through email in order to complete the whole process of tax filing.

Patience is a requirement for anyone filing their taxes. You’ll encounter unexpected lag time, complicated tax forms and the risk of making an error during data entry. This just prolongs the application process and delays the time it takes for you to focus on your business.

The Burden in Generating DAT Files

In our recent article review about eBIRForms, we have mentioned the struggles that taxpayers encounter whenever they file tax returns using the system. Its incompatibilities with other operating systems, manual data entry and so on.

But that is just for tax forms — as you know, there are also other applications that are used in generating DAT files which are required to be sent to the BIR. These are known as Alphalist Data Entry and Relief Data Entry. The worst part is that it is the same manual process as eBIRForms, whereas users need to do another set of manual encoding for the attachment, then it needs to go to yet another application where the DAT file needs to be validated.

You do not need to waste your time going back and forth from one application to another just to complete the whole process of tax filing — once you generate a report and file your return, you will automatically be able to download and send DAT files to the BIR, such as:

  • QAP or Quarterly Alphabetical List of Payees
  • SAWT or Summary Alphalist of Withholding Tax
  • SLSP or Summary Lists of Sales and Purchases
